Stór, A Stór, A Ghrá
My Darling, My loveEmmet Spiceland was an Irish folk band formed when brothers Brian Byrne and Michael Byrne of the Spiceland Folk Group joined forces with Dónal Lunny, Brian Bolger and Mick Moloney’s Emmet Folk Group. Emmet Spiceland hold a special place in Irish music history as the first of their kind, bringing what was, at the time, a modern sound, to the previously stiff and conservative national airwaves. They were known for beautiful harmonies, pin-up good looks, Mod style and previously unheard of contemporary arrangements of Irish classics.

Chorus:
A stór, a stór, my love
A stór, a stór, will you come with me?
A stór, a stór, my love
Will you come with me or settled be?
One fine summer's day
As I stood there in the marketplace
Many a young man remarked
"I'm sad you're not at home with me"
Chorus
My true love promised kindly
That she would surely come with me
Her wedding dress not ready
Delayed her in joining me
Chorus
We've got water from the Eirne
And green grass from the heaven's stems
Cow's udders are near rending
From the overflow of milk in them
Chorus
At one time in my life
I was dearly loved by everyone
Haven't times changed a lot
When no one cares a whit for me?
Chorus x2
