When I’m gone as Gaeilge. 600 rannpháirtithe idir scolairí agus foireann Curiarracht dhomhanda – go bhfios dúinn Laoibhse Ní Nualláin agus co. TG Lurgan. “Cups” also known as “Cups (Pitch Perfect’s When I’m Gone)” is a song by American actress Anna Kendrick from the film Pitch Perfect, written by A.P. Carter and Luisa Gerstein.[1] It is a cover of Lulu and the Lampshades’ song “Cups (You’re Gonna Miss Me)”, a rendition of an old-time folk song “When I’m Gone” recorded in 1931 by the Carter Family, with later versions by J. E. Mainer’s Mountaineers and Charlie Monroe. It will also serve as the official song of the 2013 CONCACAF Gold Cup.
Kendrick learned the song after seeing Anna Burden’s YouTube cover on Reddit, and performed it as her character Beca Mitchell’s audition piece in the film accompanied by only a yellow plastic cup and the stage floor as percussion. Unlike the soundtrack version, the single version of the song was remixed with additional instrumentation (notably banjos) and extended by an additional minute.
Prior to the single’s release, covers of the song as well as tutorials on how to do the song (using cups) went viral across numerous video-sharing websites (such as YouTube).
Tá an ticéad a'am don bhealach fada Dhá bhuidéal uisce don thuras Is ba bhreá liom cara a bheith in éindí liom Mé ag fágáil amárach, mbeidh tú liom?
Nuair 'tá mé imithe Nuair 'tá mé imithe Aireoidh tú uait mé 's gan mé ann Aireoidh tú uait mé 's mo aoibh Aireoidh tú uait mé 'chuile thaobh Ó, aireoidh tú uait mé 's gan mé ann
Tá an ticéad 'am don bhealach fada Tá an saol mór ag fanacht liom Measc na sléibhte, taobh na habhann Ait a bhíonn an t-aer breá úr Beidh sé i bhfad níos fearr leat a stóir
Nuair 'tá mé imithe Nuair 'tá mé imithe Aireoidh tú uait mé 's gan mé ann Aireoidh tú uait mé 's me ag caint Aireoidh tú uait mé 's mé ag seinnt Ó, aireoidh tú uait mé 's gan mé ann
I have my ticket for the long way Two bottles of water for the journey And I'd love to have a friend with me I'm leaving tomorrow, will you be with me?
When I'm gone When I'm gone You’ll miss me when I'm not there You’ll miss me and my smile You’ll miss me every single way Oh, you'll miss me when I'm not there
I have my ticket for the long way The big world is waiting for me Midst the mountains, by the river Where the air is nice and fresh Oh it would be a lot nicer with you, dear
When I'm gone When I'm gone You’ll miss me when I'm not there You’ll miss me and my talking You’ll miss me and my playing You’ll miss me when I'm not there
