“Your Song” is a ballad composed and performed by English musician Elton John with lyrics by his longtime collaborator Bernie Taupin. It was covered on John’s self-titled second album in 1970. The song was released in the United States in October 1970 as the B-side to “Take Me to the Pilot”. Both received airplay, but “Your Song” was preferred by disc jockeys and replaced “Take Me to the Pilot” as the A-side, eventually making the top ten on both the UK and US charts.
In 1998, “Your Song” was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame. In 2004 the song was placed at number 136 on Rolling Stone’s list of “The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time”. A demo version was included on John’s 1990 box set album To Be Continued. The song has been covered by a number of artists, including Ellie Goulding, whose version reached number two on the UK Singles Chart in late 2010.
Ortsa 'tá sé bunai(the), an íomh seo ar m'aghaidh Ní liomsa na mothúcháin faoi cheilt go deimhin 'Súil a'am nach bhfeicfidh, mo stóir mé le nimh B' eisean mo rogha gan aon deacracht riamh
Le aiféal a d'fhág mé, ach d'fhéadfá níos mó A ligeant ar thaobh gan, muid a feabhsú Ar aon chaoi 'sé 'n rud ná, gur tusa mo mhian Níos áille an aghaidh, níl sé feicthe a'am riamh
Is féidir a rá le daoine, go bhfuil do chroí lán An domhan 'gul ar aghaidh timpeall ort, Ach seo é d'ámhrán Tá súil agam nach mbeidh, tá súil a'am nach mbeidh Tú míshásta toisc gur Scríobh mé fútsa anseo, 's tú mo stóir gan bhuairt
Má's rud é go gceaptar, nach mbeidh muid go deo 'Sé an seal seo ina mbeidh mo, chuimhní fós beo Ní mórán atá a'am, ach mo dhícheall ón dtús, Éist leis an amhrán, 's fan mar atá tú
You it bunai (s), this íomh face Hidden feelings are indeed not mine 'Look a'am not see, I store my poison B 'he never my choice without any difficulty
Aiféal I left, but you may have more A let in without, we improve In any case 'it' is, you are my desire More beautiful face, it is not never seen a'am
People can say, your heart is full The world 'wept on around you, But this is a song I hope that, hope a'am not Unhappy because I wrote about you here, you were my store, not worry
If it's something that is considered, we will not forever 'Six this spell will my memory still alive Not a'am much, but my best from the beginning, Listen to the song, and stay as you are
